Sportradar Group AG has extended its exclusive global data and audiovisual betting rights agreement with Euroleague Basketball through 2031, the two organisations announced on 26 August 2026. The renewal begins with the 2026-27 season and keeps Sportradar as the exclusive worldwide distributor of official data and AV rights across more than 650 EuroLeague and BKT EuroCup games a year.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The rights trace back to Sportradar's 2025 acquisition of IMG ARENA, which had held the Euroleague Basketball contract before the takeover folded it into Sportradar's portfolio.

A top-tier property gets locked down for five more years

Basketball sits among the most heavily wagered sports globally, and Euroleague is Europe's top club competition outside the NBA. Renewing before the current term ran out keeps a marquee property off the table for rival data suppliers such as Genius Sports, which has spent 2026 chasing exclusive rights of its own down the sport-tier ladder, from top European football leagues to second-tier federations that the biggest suppliers had previously left alone.

Euroleague Basketball chief executive Chus Bueno said the organisation was "pleased to extend our partnership with Sportradar, a trusted partner that shares our commitment to innovation" and to delivering premium fan experiences globally. Sportradar EVP of Rights and Strategic Projects Moritz Gloeckler said the renewal "secures our position as leading official data rights holder across all key properties in one of the most heavily bet-on global sports."

Micro-betting and integrity are the stated payoff

The announcement frames the extension around two product lines rather than the raw data feed itself. Sportradar said the deal supports "expanded micro betting and player markets," the same in-play product race that has pushed suppliers to compete on latency and market depth rather than headline data pricing alone, echoing how Genius Sports has leaned on pricing power at contract renewal rather than new client volume.

The extension also folds in integrity coverage: bet monitoring through Sportradar's Universal Fraud Detection System, plus education workshops for players and administrators aimed at preventing match-fixing. Tying monitoring directly into a long-dated exclusive data contract gives Euroleague a single vendor accountable for both the commercial feed and the fraud alerts built on top of it, rather than splitting data and integrity across separate suppliers.

For sportsbooks, the practical effect is continuity. Operators building EuroLeague markets, including the faster-updating player-prop and micro markets Sportradar is promoting, keep sourcing official data from the same supplier they have used since the IMG ARENA rights transferred over. It also reinforces Sportradar's position as a neutral data seller to newer counterparties: the company has separately signed both Kalshi and Polymarket as data clients this year, a sign it is treating exclusive league contracts as an asset to license as widely as regulation allows, not just to traditional sportsbooks.

The rights deal was never really about the data feed

What Sportradar and Euroleague are actually renewing is the exclusive right to build faster, deeper betting products on top of a five-year data lock. The feed itself is table stakes. The five-year term is the company betting that basketball's betting demand only grows from here, and that owning the official supply chain now is cheaper than bidding for it again once a rival has proven the market first.
