Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 August 2026

This policy explains what personal data iGamingNews collects when you read the site or subscribe, why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than boilerplate.

Who is responsible for your data

iGamingNews is published by SC GOLF ROOM SRL, Aleea Negoiu 19, Gilau Vest, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. That company is the data controller for the purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation.

For any privacy question or request, contact editorial@igamingnews.biz.

What we collect

If you subscribe

Subscribing to iGamingNews requires an email address. If you give us a name, we store that too. We keep a record of which emails we sent you and whether they were delivered and opened, so we can tell whether the newsletter is working and stop sending to addresses that bounce.

If you take out a paid subscription, payment is handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your card details.

If you just read

You do not need an account to read the site, and we do not ask you to create one. We still collect some data automatically:

  • Analytics. We use a self-hosted analytics proxy to count page views and understand which stories are read and how people arrive. This records pages viewed, referring site, approximate location derived from your IP address, and general device and browser information.
  • Server and security logs. Our host and our content delivery network record request logs, including IP address, user agent and timestamps. These exist to deliver the site, keep it available, and defend against attacks and abuse.

Why we are allowed to do this

  • Consent for the newsletter. You asked us to email you, and you can withdraw that at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
  • Performance of a contract where you hold a paid subscription and we have to deliver what you paid for.
  • Legitimate interests for analytics, security logging and fraud prevention: we need to know whether the publication is read, and we need to keep it online and unattacked. We keep this proportionate and do not build advertising profiles.

Who else processes your data

We are a small publication and rely on established providers rather than running our own infrastructure. Each of these processes data on our behalf or, where noted, as an independent controller:

  • Ghost hosts the site, stores subscriber records, and sends the newsletter.
  • Cloudflare sits in front of the site as a content delivery network and security layer, and sets cookies necessary for that protection.
  • Our analytics provider processes the usage data described above.
  • TradingView supplies the market ticker embedded on the site. Loading that widget means TradingView receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts and Bunny Fonts serve the typefaces the site uses. Requesting a font transmits your IP address to those providers.

Some of these providers operate outside the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share subscriber lists with operators, affiliates, advertisers, or anyone else.

Cookies

The site uses cookies that keep you signed in to your subscription, cookies our content delivery network sets to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse, and cookies associated with analytics and the embedded market ticker. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though staying signed in will not.

How long we keep it

Subscriber records are kept for as long as you remain subscribed, and are deleted on request. Analytics and server logs are retained on a rolling basis for a limited period and then discarded or aggregated so they no longer identify anyone.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EEA you have the right to ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Exercising any of these costs you nothing and we will not treat you differently for asking.

Write to editorial@igamingnews.biz and we will respond within one month. If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to a data protection authority. Ours is Romania's Autoritatea Nationala de Supraveghere a Prelucrarii Datelor cu Caracter Personal (ANSPDCP), and you may also complain to the authority in the country where you live or work. Readers in the UK can contact the Information Commissioner's Office.

Age

iGamingNews reports on the gambling industry and is written for an adult, professional readership. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has subscribed, contact us and we will remove the record.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, say so in the newsletter.
