IGT will preview Wheel of Fortune Frenzy, its first live dealer game, at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas from September 28 to October 1, 2026, taking the world's largest slot manufacturer onto a format Evolution has owned for a decade. The company confirmed the preview in a September 21 announcement with Everi, its FinTech and cash-access unit since a 2025 merger.
The number that matters is zero. Before Frenzy, IGT had never shipped a live dealer product. Live casino has been the fastest-growing corner of online gaming for years, and IGT, despite controlling more slot floor space worldwide than any rival, sat out of it entirely.
Why a slot maker needed a live table
IGT's absence from live dealer was not an oversight. It was a structural gap. Slot manufacturing, systems and cash access are one business; a live dealer studio, with real dealers, real-time video and a betting engine, is another. Evolution built that second business from scratch starting in 2006 and never had to defend a legacy cabinet estate while doing it.
IGT's route in came through its 2025 combination with Everi, a roughly $6.3 billion deal engineered by Apollo Global Management that folded Everi's FinTech and Class II mobile gaming into IGT's gaming and digital arm, as SparkNews reported in its analysis of gaming supplier consolidation. That deal gave IGT a digital and cash-access layer. Frenzy is the first sign that layer is being pointed at live dealer specifically, not just online slots.
CEO Hector Fernandez framed the G2E push as a single connected product, not a scatter of launches: "At G2E 2026, our customers will experience our transformation through a portfolio that connects every touchpoint of the player journey. From chart-topping games for the RISE32 and RISE55 cabinets to next-generation Wheel of Fortune Slots, IGT ADVANTAGE X systems and Everi FinTech solutions, we are creating a connected casino floor."
What ships alongside Frenzy
Frenzy will not travel alone at booth 4455. IGT's G2E lineup, confirmed in the same release, includes:
- New cabinet content: Lightning Rails and Split 'N' Win Link Boost on the RISE32 cabinet; Money Gong Divine and Tiger and Dragon Power Sphere on the RISE55.
- A 30th-anniversary Wheel of Fortune push: Wheel of Fortune Magic Coins (RISE55), Wheel of Fortune Sunny Money (SkyRise) and Wheel of Fortune Triple Wheel Burst: Glow 7s (DiamondRS Wheel), spanning stepper and video formats.
- Everi Vi: a Class II real-money mobile gaming product IGT calls the industry's first turnkey version, meant to extend floor play onto a player's phone.
- IGT ADVANTAGE X: a casino management system pitched as the layer that ties loyalty, funding and game data together in real time.
That list is the real story behind Frenzy. IGT is not chasing Evolution's game-show catalog game by game. It is betting that operators want one connected floor, land-based and digital, run through one system and one funding rail, and that a live dealer table is simply the missing piece of that floor.
Evolution's lead is still real
SparkNews reported in June that live casino had settled into a two-supplier race, with Evolution's scale and game-show depth still ahead of a fast-scaling Pragmatic Play. IGT enters that race a decade behind both, with one unreleased title and no announced commercial launch date, market list or operator partner for Frenzy.
That gap matters for how operators should read this. A preview at a trade show is not a signed distribution deal. Evolution's advantage compounds because scale funds new studios and formats; IGT has neither a studio network nor a game-show slate to match it on day one.
What IGT does have is something neither Evolution nor Pragmatic Play can easily replicate: a physical footprint of slot machines, a casino management system already installed on thousands of floors, and Everi's cash-access rails already wired into operator back offices, a combination SparkNews flagged when covering IGT's own executive bench rebuilding around that FinTech strategy. If Frenzy works, it will not win on content depth. It will win because the operator already runs IGT's loyalty and funding stack and adding a live table costs less friction than bringing in a third-party studio.
What operators should watch next
G2E runs September 28 through October 1 at the Venetian Expo. IGT has not stated when Frenzy reaches a live floor, which jurisdictions it will target first, or whether it launches through IGT's own iGaming platform or a third-party aggregator, the model most rivals use to reach operators quickly, a pattern SparkNews has tracked in live casino's shift toward licensed game-show IP.
Those unanswered questions are the actual test. A preview proves intent. A commercial rollout, with named operators and a jurisdiction list, proves the connected-floor pitch survives contact with the market Evolution already owns.
A slot maker just admitted the floor and the app have to be one product
IGT spent three decades winning on cabinets alone. Everi's cash-access and mobile rails changed what IGT needed to sell, and Frenzy is the clearest evidence yet that the merged company sees live dealer not as new content but as the last gap in a single connected floor. Whether that thesis beats a decade of Evolution's head start now depends on a launch date IGT has not given anyone.
