**Sportradar and Polymarket significantly expanded their data partnership on 27 August 2026, extending Sportradar's supply deal from a single-sport pilot to more than 20 global leagues and competitions covering roughly 300,000 matches a year.** The [companies confirmed the expansion](https://sportradar.com/content-hub/news/sportradar-and-polymarket-significantly-expand-prediction-market-partnership-to-more-than-20-global-sports-leagues-and-competitions/?ref=igamingnews.biz) in a joint statement, and Sportradar shares gained 6% on the Nasdaq the same day.

New additions to the deal include:

- **Bundesliga** and **Euroleague Basketball**, both with exclusive audiovisual streaming rights alongside data
- The **Chinese Basketball Association** and the **National Basketball League** (Australia)
- **Tennis Grand Slams** and **UTR Pro** events

Those sit on top of the original agreement, which covered only the **ATP Tour**, [Major League Baseball, the NHL, MLS and the UFC](https://www.igamingnews.biz/sportradar-kalshi-polymarket-prediction-markets/). The jump from one flagship tennis property to a full slate of the world's most heavily bet-on football, basketball and tennis competitions is the largest single expansion of a sports data feed into the prediction market category to date.

Prediction markets sit outside state gambling law. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission, not a state gaming regulator, oversees Polymarket's US sports contracts, and [the agency has already told the category to strip sportsbook-style odds displays from its products](https://www.igamingnews.biz/cftc-prediction-markets-drop-betting-odds/). That leaves the data feed itself, rather than a state licence, as the main proof a prediction market is running on legitimate sports information. Sportradar is selling that proof at scale.

Sportradar chief executive Carsten Koerl said the company is "cementing its role as the foundational infrastructure powering this ecosystem," adding that "accurate real-time data, premium live content and a robust integrity framework are what allow these markets to price efficiently, settle reliably, and retain the confidence of participants." Ari Borod, Polymarket's president of sports business development, said expanding across more than 20 leagues gives the platform "access to premium sports data, live content and integrity services at an unprecedented scale."

The integrity piece is the part that matters most for the category's credibility. Sportradar is folding in its Universal Fraud Detection System AI, which flags suspicious betting-pattern behaviour, and its Integrity Exchange, a network operators use to share and report threats to each other. Both tools were built for licensed sportsbooks under state and national gambling law. Deploying them inside a CFTC-regulated product means prediction markets are now buying the same fraud-monitoring architecture that regulated betting relies on, without carrying the state licensing costs that come with it.

This is also Sportradar hedging its position rather than picking a winner. The company [struck a near-identical data and Kalshi arrangement in early August](https://www.igamingnews.biz/sportradar-kalshi-polymarket-prediction-markets/), and rival supplier Genius Sports has [signed both Kalshi and Polymarket to its own contracts](https://www.igamingnews.biz/genius-sports-kalshi-polymarket-data-deals/) in the same window. Exclusive league rights, the kind Sportradar just [locked down with Euroleague Basketball through 2031](https://www.igamingnews.biz/sportradar-euroleague-basketball-data-rights/), are increasingly licensed to prediction markets and sportsbooks alike, a shift that is [reshaping how suppliers price exclusivity in the first place](https://www.igamingnews.biz/sports-betting-data-rights-exclusivity-debate/).

For sportsbooks watching from the outside, the practical read is that prediction markets are no longer a niche adjacent to sports betting. A 300,000-match annual footprint puts Polymarket's data coverage in the same range as a mid-tier regulated operator, built in months rather than years and without a single state gambling licence. Neither company disclosed financial terms of the expanded deal.

## Prediction markets just bought sportsbook-grade compliance

The scale of this expansion is the story, but the mechanism underneath it is the one operators should watch. Polymarket did not build fraud detection or integrity monitoring from scratch. It rented Sportradar's, the same system regulated sportsbooks pay for as a cost of holding a licence. If that compliance layer can be leased rather than mandated, the gap between a licensed sportsbook and an unlicensed prediction market gets harder to defend on integrity grounds alone, and easier to defend only on the letter of which regulator has jurisdiction.
